However, try searching legitimate news channels from Canada, <a title=\"CBC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>CBC<\/strong><\/a> for example, and you will find plenty of sensational crap, but no hits on the above shocking revelation.<\/p>\n<p>No real surprise, since comic book lover, <a title=\"Adam Kredo\" href=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/author\/adam-kredo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Adam Kredo<\/strong><\/a> of <strong>The Washington Free Beacon<\/strong> is the inventor of this fiction. Adam gives this mash, one day or so to ferment, then follows with:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"<strong>State Department Endorses Handbook Calling Jihad \u2018Noble\u2019<\/strong>&#8221; href=&#8221;http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/state-department-endorses-handbook-calling-jihad-noble\/&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; rel=&#8221;noopener noreferrer&#8221;>State Department Endorses Handbook Calling Jihad \u2018Noble\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Again, right wing bloggers ring up a jackpot in perfect harmony. National Review, True News USA, PA Pundits, Wake Up America, Jammie Wearing Fools (seriously?) among other vitriol-spewing individuals and organizations jump on the bandwagon. Yet search the <a title=\"US Department of State\" href=\"http:\/\/www.state.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>US Department of State<\/strong><\/a>\u2026 not so much.<\/p>\n<p>Why not? What these adolescent jesters have discovered, it takes little proof to seed an avalanche of fear-mongering, especially inside a fertile wheel-house of hate. The Internet is wondrous as well as vile, and people are easily duped by pretty pictures.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort at full disclosure, it should be noted: a handbook was released by a Winnipeg Mosque with contributions by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), entitled: &#8220;<strong>United Against Terrorism<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>There is a section for intelligence and law enforcement officials, starting off with a warning not to equate being religious with being a radical. RCMP spokesman Greg Cox wrote CBC News, saying &#8220;<em>the RCMP takes responsibility for its section of the booklet only.<\/em>&#8221; &#8220;<em>We have not agreed to avoid using terms such as &#8216;Islamist terrorism,<\/em>&#8216; &#8216;<em>Islamic extremism<\/em>&#8216; and &#8216;<em>jihad<\/em>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>The handbook will be available online and 100 copies were printed for distribution.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here\u2019s one more example of the flying monkey effect originating within conservative blogs.
